HSE HEADQUARTERS, DR. STEEVENS HOSPITAL BUILDING (PROTECTED STRUCTURE), DUBLIN
Dr. Steevens Hospital – In conjunction with Van Dijk Architects, MRL were involved with the renovation of the basement of Dr. Steevens Hospital Building. The Building itself is a 300 year old protected structure situated in Dublin City Centre. The Project provided much needed additional space for the HSE to house their administration team. The development included the construction of new meeting rooms, offices, hot desk areas, kitchens, toilets, communication rooms and storage. The contract or the project was the Public Works for Minor Building and Civil Engineering Works.
Narrow Water Castle
Narrow Water Castle is a famous 16th century Tower House and Bawn near Warrenpoint overlooking Carlingford Bay. MRL Architects were appointed over 10 years ago as Architectural Historians for the Castle and its estate. It is the responsibility of MRL to ensure that all works carried out on this historic building complies with current policy on heritage and conservation for listed structures. The existing Castle requires continual planned restoration works that appropriately reflect the reconfiguration works necessary to ensure its continued preservation, sustainability and meet its changing needs.
