Louth County Council has approved a Large-Scale Residential Development (LRD) at Bellfield, Haggardstown, Dundalk, which will bring 183 new homes to the area, along with a crèche. The project, designed by MRL Architect and undertaken by McParland Bros Builders Limited, will feature a mix of 64 houses and 119 apartment/duplex units. The houses will include 48 three-bedroom units and 16 four-bedroom units, while the apartments will consist of 21 one-bedroom, 57 two-bedroom, and 41 three-bedroom units spread across six blocks, with some buildings reaching up to six storeys in height.

The planning permission also includes provisions for surface-level parking, with in-curtilage parking for houses and on-street parking for the crèche, duplexes, and apartments. The development will feature electric vehicle charging points and necessary infrastructure, as well as upgrades to the existing access road from Dublin Road to accommodate vehicular, pedestrian, and cycle traffic.
